I was awoken by a large crash sound at around 11:40pm. After reaching the bridge I heard we hit a iceberg. I then received the report of the accident from Murdoch and then made a quick inspection of the ship with Thomas Andrews. I was told 5 hulls were flooded meaning the ship will sink. I was in shock and only ordered the launch on the life boats when Lightoller had to approached me for the order.
